AP\u2019s earlier story follows below.<\/p>\n<p>COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) \u2014<\/p>\n<p>Two trains collided in <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/denmark\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Denmark<\/a> early Thursday, prompting a massive emergency response for what police called a major accident.<\/p>\n<p>The collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. near Hiller\u00f8d, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone has been evacuated out of the trains, according to a spokesperson for the North Zealand police.<\/p>\n<p>Photos from the scene show the front ends of the trains smashed, though both remained upright on the tracks.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor of the nearby town of Gribskov, Trine Egetved, in a post on Facebook, said some of the injured were flown to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>She said the crash occurred on a local rail line that&#8217;s used by many Gribskov residents, employees and schoolchildren.<\/p>\n<p>No other details were available.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 The Associated Press.
