WARSAW, Ind. (WNDU) – Slate Auto has raised $650 million toward getting its first electric truck into production at its factory in Warsaw.<\/p>\n
According to a report released this month<\/a>, the Michigan-based startup said the funding will help ramp up work at its factory, with the goal of starting production later this year.<\/p>\n The production is expected to create over 2,000 jobs in Kosciusko County<\/a>.<\/p>\n Slate also said it already has more than 160,000 reservations, and it plans to open preorders in June.<\/p>\n The company said the truck could start in the mid-$20,000 range, with first deliveries targeted for late 2026.<\/p>\n Stay up to date on local news with WNDU<\/a> on-air and online.
