A fire broke out this morning in Old Riga, burning across an area of 300 square meters at The Sinners bar, the LETA news agency has learned.<\/p>\n
The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) reported that at 6:18 a.m. a call was received to Gr\u0113cinieku Street, where a fire had started in public premises located on the ground floor of a six-storey residential building.<\/p>\n
LETA has learned that the fire occurred at 11A Gr\u0113cinieku Street, and publicly available information indicates that this address houses the Sinners nightclub and a bar of the same name.<\/p>\n
The owner of The Sinners Bar, Miks Galvanovskis, stated on Instagram that the Sinners bar caught fire for unknown reasons after closing hours.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do not know what the future holds, but for now our operations are suspended,\u201d<\/p>\n
the bar owner added.<\/p>\n
Before the arrival of firefighters, three people were evacuated from the building, while rescuers evacuated four more.<\/p>\n
At 7:21 a.m., the spread of the flames was contained. The total affected area is 300 square meters.<\/p>\n
Firefighters continue working at the scene, and traffic in the area remains restricted.<\/p>\n
