The President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Milo\u0161 Vystr\u010dil, during a visit to Brussels this week discussed Prague\u2019s cooperation with European and Euro-Atlantic institutions, as well as support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

In particular, during a meeting with the NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the interlocutors discussed the issue of strengthening Europe\u2019s defense capabilities and the need for continued support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was pleased that Mark Rutte highly valued the Czech initiative on ammunition. We also discussed defense spending, and we agreed that we should work so that Europe, within NATO, is stronger \u2013 a stronger Europe in a strong NATO.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Speaker, the Czech Republic has homework to do, which it should carry out as quickly as possible in its own interests. At the same time, the Senate, the head assured him, will certainly support strengthening the Czech Republic\u2019s defense capabilities.<\/p>\n

He also held talks at NATO headquarters with Deputy Secretary General Nicolas Katsaras.<\/p>\n
The topic of increasing defense capability was also raised during talks with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola; both speakers agreed that the European Parliament\u2019s task is to simplify processes in the EU.<\/p>\n
During the two-day working trip, meetings were held with representatives of the European Commission.<\/p>\n
The Czech Senate adopted declarations condemning Russian aggression and regularly organizes conferences in support of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
The trip\u2019s conclusion underscored the joint efforts of Prague and European institutions to strengthen security and defense on the continent in the context of ongoing support for Kyiv.<\/p>\n
