The mighty battering ram that was used by Sauron’s forces to break through the great gate of Minas Tirith in The Lord of the Rings is said to be the basis for the GWP accompanying LEGO Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith (11377) and will come with minifigures.

After the complete model of Minas Tirith (11377) was leaked in a reel back in January, although we expect it in June 2026, we now at least get a rough idea of the GWP, which will likely once again be available exclusively with the set. Even though no images of the Gift with Purchase have leaked yet, let’s take a close look at the info that was published by “Brick Tap” on reddit with references to various sources.

Known details about the LEGO Lord of the Rings GWP

Like the last two sets from the LEGO Lord of the Rings line, the Gift with Purchase is said to be another Icons set that you can secure when purchasing the next big LEGO Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith (11377) set. Not only will the mighty battering ram “Grond” be built from the total of 307 pieces in the set. Two minifigures are also said to be included, though we don’t have any more specific information about them in the rumor.

“Grond” in “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”

Two orcs that could accompany the model would certainly be conceivable and would probably make a good impression alongside the battering ram, even though the actual scale would be hard to achieve with a model of roughly 300 pieces. While it would be more true to scale to include mountain trolls or the draft animals as figures with the set, that would require big-figs, which you probably wouldn’t expect to find in such a GWP. Whether the entire wooden frame will be recreated with the set is unclear. A build using chain elements would of course be fitting for the battering ram, which would provide a nice little play feature together with the gate in LEGO Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith (11377).

Previous GWPs for LEGO Lord of the Rings Sets

This set would not be the first, but rather the third exclusive Gift with Purchase in the LEGO Lord of the Rings line since the relaunch with LEGO Rivendell (10316) in 2023. Named after the Hammer of the Underworld, the massive battering ram was shaped like a wolf’s skull and hung on chains from a mobile frame. It was so massive that it had to be pulled by draft animals and swung by mountain trolls.

“Grond” breaks through the gate of Minas Tirith in “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”

The city gate only had to be rammed with Grond three times before it gave way.
