{"id":70687,"date":"2026-04-29T01:47:24","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T01:47:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/70687\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T01:47:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T01:47:24","slug":"the-lego-group-builds-its-sustainable-approach-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/70687\/","title":{"rendered":"The LEGO Group Builds its Sustainable Approach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The LEGO Group\u2019s 2025 annual results highlight an\u00a0increasing\u00a0focus\u00a0on sustainability\u00a0that\u00a0is key\u00a0to driving the\u00a0brand\u2019s growth and elevating\u00a0its\u00a0innovative portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>LEGO\u2019S YEAR OF SUCCESS<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lego.com\/en-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The LEGO Group<\/a>\u00a0(LEGO)\u00a0has much to celebrate in its 2025\u00a0annual\u00a0results \u2013 highlights include\u00a012 percent revenue growth compared to the 2024\u00a0financial year. Consumer sales also rose by 16 percent,\u00a0demonstrating\u00a0a continued upward trajectory in the toy market.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/niels-b-christiansen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Niels B Christiansen, CEO<\/a>, highlights\u00a0the\u00a0reasons behind\u00a0the company\u2019s record performance in 2025.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur innovative and extensive portfolio, combined with the strength of the LEGO brand and an effective operating model, drove high demand. We delivered these results by being both creative in product innovation and efficient in operations, bringing LEGO play experiences to more kids than ever before,\u201d he says.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alongside an innovative portfolio and\u00a0a\u00a0significant\u00a0rise\u00a0in investment\u00a0levels, LEGO\u2019s success last year was also underpinned by its commitment to\u00a0crafting\u00a0a more\u00a0eco-conscious\u00a0industry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>PAVING THE WAY FOR SUSTAINABLE PLAY\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>LEGO\u2019s\u00a0report\u00a0highlights how it\u00a0increased its total sustainability investments by 20 percent compared to previous years, a figure that is triple the amount invested in 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0rise\u00a0in\u00a0capital expenditure\u00a0meant\u00a0LEGO bricks and packaging\u00a0could be made\u00a0from more sustainable materials.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In fact, for the third consecutive year, the company was able to grow the amount of renewable and recyclable content in the materials\u00a0purchased\u00a0to\u00a0create\u00a0the bricks, which increased from 33 percent to 52 percent last year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0was the result of\u00a0LEGO\u00a0purchasing\u00a0more\u00a0certified mass balance and segregated materials, which meant\u00a0fewer\u00a0virgin fossil-based materials were used.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we continued to invest in future growth, we brought multi-year strategic investments to life and reached more than half renewable and recycled content in the materials we buy to make LEGO bricks,\u201d Christiansen attests.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s\u00a0more,\u00a0the company\u2019s total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions\u00a0remained\u00a0at 0.2 percent, whilst its carbon intensity also fell relative to\u00a0its\u00a0revenue growth.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Other environmentally driven\u00a0LEGO\u00a0projects of note\u00a0included\u00a0expanding\u00a0solar energy coverage, investing\u00a0in geothermal developments, and pursuing\u00a0renewable energy power purchase agreements (PPAs).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All this adds up to create a proactive ecosystem of\u00a0sustainability-driven initiatives.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply committed to having a positive impact on the world and the communities we are part of. We do this by aiming to reduce our environmental footprint and improving access to play for kids who need it most, and we will continue to invest significantly to deliver on that ambition,\u201d\u00a0Christiansen\u00a0comments.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BUILDING BLOCKS TO GROWTH\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>LEGO\u2019s annual results also highlighted the\u00a0success\u00a0of its largest portfolio to date, which includes over 860 products \u2013\u00a0approximately half\u00a0of which were brand-new \u2013\u00a0that increasingly\u00a0appeal to a multi-generational market.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, LEGO\u2019s partnership with Formula 1\u00a0(F1)\u00a0last year attracted a wealth of new consumers, supported by activations at 20+\u00a0F1\u00a0Grand Prix events\u00a0and a collaboration with the F1\u00a0ACADEMY\u2122, whilst the introduction of new titles and franchises has\u00a0helped to elevate the organisation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Impacting\u00a0more than 11.7 million children through its global social\u00a0responsibility\u00a0initiatives, LEGO\u00a0is\u00a0dedicated to creating a more sustainable\u00a0toy market, one\u00a0brick at a time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The LEGO Group\u2019s 2025 annual results highlight an\u00a0increasing\u00a0focus\u00a0on sustainability\u00a0that\u00a0is key\u00a0to driving the\u00a0brand\u2019s growth and elevating\u00a0its\u00a0innovative portfolio.
