Andretti Formula E returns to Berlin for Rounds 7 and 8 as the series heads to the iconic Tempelhof Airport Circuit, the only venue to feature on the calendar every season since Formula E\u2019s inception. The 2.374km layout, set on the former historic airfield\u2019s vast concrete apron, remains one of the most unique challenges in Formula E. Its abrasive, slab-based surface, originally designed for aircraft, drives high tire degradation and demanding energy management, while the circuit\u2019s wide, flowing nature consistently delivers close, action-packed racing with plenty of overtaking opportunities.<\/p>\n

The team arrives fresh from Madrid, where it surpassed 10,000 racing laps in Formula E, and will look to carry that momentum into the halfway point of the season. Jake Dennis boasts a strong track record in the German capital, with multiple top-five finishes and podiums, while Felipe Drugovich returns to the circuit where he made his Formula E debut and scored points.<\/p>\n

Andretti Formula E<\/p>\n

Berlin has been a milestone venue for the Andretti Formula E team, having completed a total of 1,530 racing laps in the city to date and scoring its 500th Championship point there in Season 6.<\/p>\n

Andretti has recorded one win, one pole position, three podiums, one fastest lap and a total of 134 Championship points in Berlin.<\/p>\n

At the Season 6 Berlin E-Prix III, Maximilian G\u00fcnther claimed victory at his home race in Germany for Andretti Formula E. Only two drivers, Jake Dennis being the other (London E-Prix I, Season 8), have claimed wins at their home race while racing for Andretti Formula E.<\/p>\n

During the Season 10 Berlin E-Prix, past Andretti driver Norman Nato claimed the fastest lap of both races during the 2024 doubleheader. However, as the Frenchman finished outside of the top 10, he did not receive the official accolade.<\/p>\n

Following the 2026 CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix, Andretti Formula E has now completed 10,000 racing laps and has led 1,200km in the team\u2019s 12 seasons in the all-electric series.<\/p>\n

Jake Dennis<\/p>\n

Jake Dennis has claimed four top-five finishes, including two podiums, at the Berlin E-Prix (Season 7 \u2013 Round 14, Season 9 \u2013 Round 8, Season 10 \u2013 Round 10 and Season 11 \u2013 Round 14).<\/p>\n

The Season 9 Berlin E-Prix kickstarted a personal-best run for both Dennis and Andretti, with the Brit going on to secure five consecutive podium finishes. <\/p>\n

Dennis holds an 8-2 qualifying record against his teammates in the German capital.<\/p>\n

Across the last three Berlin doubleheaders, Dennis has yet to score in Race 1, but has rebounded in Race 2 with a top-five finish each time.<\/p>\n

Last time out in Berlin, the No. 27 driver DNF\u2019d in the first race and managed to climb from his starting position of 16th to finish second during the next day\u2019s race.<\/p>\n

Felipe Drugovich<\/p>\n

Drugovich\u2019s first Formula E race was the 2025 Berlin E-Prix, where he stepped in for Mahindra Racing\u2019s Nyck De Vries at the Season 11 doubleheader.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian driver scored points in his Formula E debut in Berlin last year with a seventh-place finish in the second race of the 2025 doubleheader.<\/p>\n

Berlin will mark the first city that Drugovich returns to race in during his Formula E career.<\/p>\n

Last time out in Madrid, the Free Practice 2 session was the first time that the No. 28 driver has topped a session in Formula E.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe left Madrid probably not quite as quick as we were hoping to be. Obviously, the conditions were mixed all weekend, so it was hard to get a true representation. Nevertheless, I think we expected a little bit more from the race. Berlin is looking like it could be quite an energy-sensitive race, so we\u2019ve been focused on maximizing the efficiency of our package so that Felipe and I have the best opportunity to score points and move us further up in the Teams\u2019 Championship standings. \u201cMadrid was a frustrating race in the end. While the strategy was good, the execution just wasn\u2019t quite there. We showed strong pace throughout the weekend, so it was frustrating not to come away with a result. Looking back, though, it does give you confidence, and to come through the field and lead the race was a great experience. We\u2019ve been busy addressing the issues we faced over the weekend, and I\u2019m refreshed and ready to go again.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m really looking forward to Berlin. Having driven the circuit in rookie tests and last year\u2019s race, I\u2019m heading there with a good level of positivity. It\u2019s a massive plus to return to a track I already know for the first time in Formula E, and I\u2019m aiming to capitalize on that. Even though we start from scratch when Free Practice 1 begins, that prior experience gives me a real boost. \u201cThe team has delivered some strong results in Berlin through previous races, though the circuit presents a unique challenge each time we visit. There are two aspects that really stand out: firstly is the track surface. It\u2019s like nothing else that we race on. The airport runway apron is a unique mix of concrete, pebbles and more, which is very abrasive, evident by the amount of rubber marbles visible off the racing line. Secondly, is that racing in Berlin has been a constant on the calendar since Season 1 and has carried through continuously. With that, pretty much every team and most of the drivers know it extremely well, even despite the various configuration changes. The fact that there have been four repeat winners over the years at Tempelhof highlights this.<\/p>\n

Consistency across both races has been a challenge in the past. Berlin has been a track of highs and lows for the team, and the 2024 edition highlights this, from the back row on one day to a pole position the following day. It\u2019s going to be paramount for us to hit the ground running in Free Practice 1, and if this can be nailed early on, then likely we will be in for a strong weekend.
