(WPTA) &#8211; The price of gas has spiked at multiple gas stations in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio Wednesday, according to GasBuddy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum for Gas Buddy, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GasBuddyGuy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GasBuddyGuy\">sounding the alarm on X<\/a> as prices soar across the Midwest, saying it has been a \u201cdouble spike day\u201d as prices jumped from as high as $4.79 a gallon, then to $4.99.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">oh my lord. the sh*t is hitting the fan- MORE ALERTS INCOMING<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Patrick De Haan (@GasBuddyGuy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GasBuddyGuy\/status\/2049586976618070046?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">April 29, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">As the national average sits at $4.27, De Haan describes \u201cskyrocketing\u201d prices in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">But, De Haan doesn\u2019t seem to think this is the end of prices jumping, saying \u201cjust a wild, wild day, and it\u2019s not over, folks. Sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The analyst says the war in Iran and refinery issues are the cause behind the increase.
