In a statement released by the couple\u2019s lawyers, they blamed the speculation about their financial ties to the dead pedophile as a contributing factor in their son\u2019s suicide.<\/p>\n
They called out \u201cmonths of a public spotlight that has long since ceased to be critical, and has instead become suspicious, speculative and at times limitless,\u201d Verdens Gang reported.<\/p>\n
\u201cA spotlight that has not only affected two parents, but has also drawn their children involuntarily into the relentless machinery of the public,\u201d their statement continued.<\/p>\n
The news comes just two days after Norwegian and French police announced a joint corruption investigation into the couple.<\/p>\n

Juul was forced to resign as Norway\u2019s ambassador to Jordan and Iraq in February as a result of the scandal, while her husband, a former president of the International Peace Institute, is also accused of gross corruption.<\/p>\n

The couple appears to have visited Epstein\u2019s private island, Little Saint James, with their children in 2011, when Edward and his twin sister would have been around 10.<\/p>\n

R\u00f8d-Larsen later thanked Epstein for the invite, describing the island as \u201ctotally unique,\u201d adding, \u201cWe all loved it!\u201d<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cMona sends a kiss,\u201d in the email.<\/p>\n
The DOJ\u2019s files also indicate that the couple\u2019s two children were bequeathed $10 million by Epstein after he died in 2019, while Terje was appointed executor of Epstein\u2019s will in 2017 \u2014 although this was later revoked.<\/p>\n

The diplomatic power couple was part of the group that facilitated the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization in the 1990s.<\/p>\n
Both have denied committing any offenses.<\/p>\n
