Bayern set their sights on Ajax star – FCBinside

FC Bayern are pressing ahead with their offensive plans – and are apparently expanding their pool of candidates in the process. While Anthony Gordon is still regarded as the desired solution, Mika Godts is another exciting profile that the Munich club are now focusing on

As reported by Transferfeed, Bayern are keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old winger from Ajax Amsterdam. The Belgian has been one of the most eye-catching attacking players in the Eredivisie this season and has come to the fore with strong performances. In addition to the German record champions, Manchester United and Manchester City are also said to be keeping an eye on the youngster

With 16 goals and 11 assists in 29 league games, Godts has put up impressive figures, with a spectacular solo goal against NAC Breda recently causing a stir and underlining his enormous potential in one-on-one situations

Godts as an alternative to Gordon?

The personnel issue is also interesting in the context of the efforts to sign Anthony Gordon. The England international from Newcastle United is still high on Bayern’s wish list, but the financial conditions make a potential transfer considerably more difficult

photo: Getty Images

According to reports, Manchester United are preparing an offer of around 100 million euros, while Newcastle are reportedly demanding at least 85 million euros – sums that are viewed critically at Säbener Straße

Godts, on the other hand, is in a much more moderate price range. His market value is estimated at around 25 million euros, while Ajax are said to have recently asked for around 32 million euros. This would make the Belgian a much cheaper option – with great development potential at the same time

Bayern are keeping a close eye on the market

The left winger moved to Amsterdam from KRC Genk at the beginning of 2023 and was gradually built up there. He is now a regular and a permanent fixture in the Dutch record champions‘ attacking play

Despite his rapid rise, Godts is down-to-earth: „I owe everything to the club,“ he explained recently, making his close connection to Ajax clear

At FC Bayern, competition on the wings is already high with players such as Luis Díaz and Michael Olise. Youngster Lennart Karl is also considered a promising option for the future. Nevertheless, those responsible are continuing to sound out the market in order to be able to react flexibly to possible developments

With his pace, dribbling ability and goalscoring ability, Godts fits the profile they are looking for. Whether he actually becomes a concrete transfer target in the end remains to be seen – but one thing is clear: FC Bayern is keeping all options open.

FC Bayern are pressing ahead with their offensive plans – and are apparently expanding their pool of candidates…

[101
199,39329,1149,200
0":"post-72419","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-amsterdam","8":"tag-amsterdam","9":"tag-anthony-gordon","10":"tag-mika-godts","11":"tag-netherlands
["GET
