These 3 sets are aimed at adult collectors, and to kick off our LEGO Pokemon reviews, I’ll start with 72151 Eevee, the smallest and cheapest set of the launch wave.

LEGO Pokemon’s adult focus is clear – letting LEGO fans build iconic Pokemon into display-ready models, starting with a super-sized trio of fully evolved starters, Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard, as well as popular series mascots Eevee and Pikachu.

While Pikachu is the face of LEGO Pokemon, Eevee is one of the most beloved Pokemon, and is largely responsible for a ton of merch thanks to Eevee’s cute and fluffy look, as well as the plethora of Eeveelutions that Eevee can evolve into.

72151 Eevee is arguably the star of the first wave of LEGO Pokemon sets, striking the perfect balance between price, size and accessibility, and is a really strong showcase of what the LEGO Pokemon theme can achieve. The multi-coloured tiles represents the colours of Eevee’s potential evolutions, Sylveon, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, Leafeon, Umbreon and Espeon.

The completed model

Here is Eevee and it’s utterly adorable. It’s a great size, standing about 19 cm (7.5 in.) tall making it a cute little Pokemon companion.

There are no stickers included in the set, so all of Eevee’s decorations are printed, and for a set this small, there’s a surprising number of printed elements. The most important however is Eevee’s face, where 3 unique printed tiles and curved slopes are used to bring Eevee’s expressive face to life.

Eevee’s head is connected by a ball joint, offering a decent amount of articulation, letting Eevee tilt and swivel its head around which really opens up plenty of poses and display options. You can also swivel Eevee’s ears for more of its playful personality to come out.

Here’s how Eevee looks from the side. Aside from Eevee’s expressive face, the designers have done a marvelous job with just how fluffy her furry follar looks. There’s lots of volume which looks great and is one of Eevee’s most defining features.

Here’s a look at Eevee’s bushy tail, which has a brush-like shape. Again, the designers have done a great job here introducing texture, but also getting the cone-shape right and for the Pokenerds out there, you’ll know that this is a male Eevee because the tan-coloured tip has a jagged pattern, as opposed to a rounded/curved pattern!

The tail can swivel and rotate so you can pose it in different ways, but is also a nod to Eevee’s signature move, Tail Whip! The grey ball joint is a little unsightly, but there’s not much that can be done here as ball joints only come in a very small pool of colours due to its hardiness, and other pigments being generally unsuitable for elements that have to endure lots of stress like joints.

Eevee’s feet are printed, which are a lovely surprise. This is really a nice to have and the model would’ve worked fine if these were plain, but I am really glad that LEGO are rolling out the red carpet for its Pokemon models and sparing no expense with these details.

Oh, and even Eevee’s pink feet pads are here. This might seem quite superfluous, but these little pink pads are actually a very crucial design element for Eevee so it’s no wonder that Pokemon likely made it a point to have LEGO print these details.

LEGO Eevee Size Comparisons

My daughter’s favourite Pokemon is Eevee, so we naturally have plenty of Eevee plushies at home, so here’s a side by side with our big and furry Eevee plush that we picked up in Japan in 2025!

As you can see, LEGO have done a really great job with the overall design of LEGO Eevee!

And in case you were wondering how Eevee stacks up alongside other LEGO Animals, here’s a look at Eevee next to 11384 Golden Retriever Puppy and 21376 Orange Cat.

And here’s a look at Eevee next to Venusaur from 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise! Eevee’s popularity cannot be denied and it makes perfect sense for it to be one of the first Kanto Pokemon that we get from LEGO, but far from phoning it in, LEGO have done a superb job capturing Eevee’s likeness using LEGO bricks.

It might not be the biggest or most complex, but with a US$60 / AU$100 / £55 pricetag, it’s the perfect introduction to LEGO Pokemon. While the price might seem a little high for a 500-piece model, I think it’s decent value as original Pokemon isn’t cheap, and you’re also getting plenty of value here with all the printed elements.

The Eevee model is also a great size, not too large but just the right size for display, and with its articulation and poseability, it also invites you to play with it and pose it around.

Eevee fans will have a blast with 72151 Eevee, and out of the trio of sets, Eevee is hands down the must-buy of the collection, especially if you’re saving up for the larger Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard model.
