WARSAW, Ind. (WNDU) – A Chicago doctor is facing felony charges in Kosciusko County after police say he was giving IV treatments out of a home in Warsaw without a license to practice medicine in Indiana.<\/p>\n
Michael Close, 62, has been charged with two counts of practicing medicine without a license and unlawful possession or use of a legend drug. He is also facing a battery charge.<\/p>\n
Court documents say investigators received a letter raising concerns about a woman\u2019s welfare, claiming Close was injecting her with IV NAD treatments, which is commonly marketed for wellness but should be done under appropriate oversight.<\/p>\n
Police say a detective went to the home and found syringes and vials inside Close\u2019s car. He admitted he injected the woman, telling police it was B12, which is a vitamin. He also admitted his medical license had been suspended.<\/p>\n
The charging paperwork also says officers found multiple prescription drugs in that vehicle.<\/p>\n
