{"id":74848,"date":"2026-05-05T03:27:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T03:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/74848\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T03:27:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T03:27:12","slug":"french-regulator-fines-novo-lilly-over-weight-loss-ad-campaigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/74848\/","title":{"rendered":"French regulator fines Novo, Lilly over weight loss ad campaigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As competition mounts in the red-hot market for weight loss drugs, France\u2019s medicines regulator fined Novo Nordisk approximately $2 million for running <a href=\"https:\/\/ansm.sante.fr\/actualites\/decision-du-29-04-2026-portant-sanction-financiere-a-lencontre-de-la-societe-novo-nordisk-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201cmisleading\u201d advertisements<\/a> for its Wegovy and <a href=\"https:\/\/ansm.sante.fr\/actualites\/decision-du-29-04-2026-portant-sanction-financiere-a-lencontre-de-la-societe-novo-nordisk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Saxenda<\/a> medications.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ansm.sante.fr\/actualites\/decision-du-29-04-2026-portant-sanction-financiere-a-lencontre-de-la-societe-lilly-france\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">also fined Eli Lilly<\/a> roughly $127,000 over advertising for its Mounjaro obesity treatment that purportedly amounted to indirect promotion of a medicine for which a prescription is required.<\/p>\n<p>The penalties reflect increasing concern among regulators that weight loss medicines may be misused and, as result, promotions run by pharmaceutical companies are being closely scrutinized.
