Read:\u00a0Jersey Post increase the number of collections from Amazon depots<\/a><\/p>\n“This is the result of DFDS sitting down with Jersey Post to sort out the issue around Amazon deliveries that was caused by cessation of the Tuesday sailing.<\/p>\n
“They worked together to find a solution, and that was to choose (to suspend) the Saturday sailing because it does not have many passengers booked on it in February.<\/p>\n
“It is not good for those people who are inconvenienced, but – from the bigger picture perspective – there are not many people who are going to have to change sailing.<\/p>\n
“I think the important thing is that we have a ferry provider who is listening to our concerns.”<\/p>\n
Tuesday sailings of the Stena Vinga are making a comeback from 17 February.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Jersey Post said:<\/p>\n
“We welcome the reintroduction of the Tuesday evening ferry service, following consultation by DFDS.<\/p>\n
“Mondays and Tuesdays are our busiest days, with nearly half of all\u00a0weekly mail arriving on these two days.<\/p>\n
“Letters and parcels remain an important service for many islanders and businesses, helping to keep Jersey connected.”<\/p>\n
