The delays have made it difficult to meet the target of opening the tunnel in 2029.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Fehmarn Belt Tunnel, an 18-kilometre road and rail link between Germany and Denmark, is intended to connect the German Baltic island of Fehmarn with Lolland, cutting travel times between the Hamburg and Copenhagen regions.
