{"id":78493,"date":"2026-05-09T10:24:19","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T10:24:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/78493\/"},"modified":"2026-05-09T10:24:19","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T10:24:19","slug":"brussels-declaration-2026-adopted-at-the-general-assembly-of-the-nadal-network-of-prosecutors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/78493\/","title":{"rendered":"Brussels Declaration 2026 adopted at the General Assembly of the NADAL Network of Prosecutors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Brussels Declaration 2026, which confirms the commitment to the rule of law and emphasizes the key role of independent judicial and prosecutorial institutions in the protection of fundamental rights, was adopted at the General Assembly of the Network of Prosecutors of the Member States of the European Union (NADAL Network), the Supreme State Prosecutor&#8217;s Office (SPO) of Montenegro announced.<\/p>\n<p>The General Assembly of the NADAL Network, which was held in Brussels, was attended by the Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Markovi\u0107 and his deputy, State Prosecutor Jelena \u0110aleti\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>As announced by the Supreme Prosecutor&#8217;s Office, at the gathering, leading prosecutors and prosecutors from across Europe discussed key challenges to the rule of law, reflecting on the increasing pressure on judicial institutions and the need to preserve their independence in demanding political and social circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>The statement states that the participants of the meeting, within thematic sessions, spoke about the relationship between legal tradition and reform, as well as the ways in which prosecutors&#8217; offices respond to attempts at influence that may jeopardize their impartial and efficient actions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The assembly adopted the &#8220;Brussels Declaration 2026&#8243;, which confirms the firm commitment to the rule of law as a fundamental value of the European Union (EU) and emphasizes the key role of independent and impartial judicial and prosecutorial institutions in protecting fundamental rights and strengthening trust in judicial systems,&#8221; the Supreme Prosecutor&#8217;s Office said.<\/p>\n<p>The declaration emphasizes that prosecutors must act in full institutional and functional independence, free from undue influence, in accordance with the law and European standards of the rule of law.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With this document, the NADAL network confirms its commitment to strengthening cooperation and continuous dialogue with the aim of preserving and improving the rule of law in the EU,&#8221; said the VDT.<\/p>\n<p>As they added, the participation of the State Prosecutor&#8217;s Office of Montenegro as an associated member of the NADAL network is important for the exchange of experiences, the improvement of professional knowledge and the promotion of best European practices, as well as for joint initiatives and cooperation aimed at strengthening the rule of law.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For the State Prosecutor&#8217;s Office, such events represent an opportunity to further improve professional standards and strengthen institutional capacities,&#8221;
