Mjallby are continuing to climb the Allsvenskan table after their rocky start, cruising past Degerfors on the road this afternoon, while Hammarby scored very late to beat winless Goteborg, and GAIS edged Vasteras.<\/p>\n
Degerfors 1-4 Mjallby<\/a><\/p>\n Mjallby<\/a> lost their first two matches of the season, more than the entirety of last season, but have been playing with freedom since then, winning four and drawing one, while today’s big away win was their third victory in a row.<\/p>\n The first goal came just four minutes in, when a corner was worked back for Jeppe Kjaer<\/a> to strike into the bottom corner from 25 yards out. It was 2-0 after half an hour, when Abdullah Iqbal<\/a> dug out a cross from the right and Tom Pettersson<\/a> got in front of his man to turn the ball home.<\/p>\n Seven minutes later, MAIF were almost out of sight and for the third time they did the damage down the right – this time it was Tony Miettinen<\/a> with the deep cross and Abdoulie Manneh<\/a> getting on the end of it with his head.<\/p>\n Degerfors<\/a> gave themselves hope five minutes into the second half when Daniel Sundgren<\/a> kept the pressure on at a corner by hooking the ball up, and first two it was Nasiru Moro<\/a> to knock it over the line.<\/p>\n But Karl Marius Aksum’s side made sure of another win six minutes from time when Elliot Stroud<\/a> got in behind the defence, taking down Jesper Gustavsson<\/a>‘s ball over the top and applying the finish. Mjallby are up to fourth on 13 points, while Degerfors drop to 11th and are winless in three.<\/p>\n Goteborg 0-1 Hammarby<\/a><\/p>\n Two places but just one point ahead of Mjallby are Hammarby<\/a>, who scored a 94th-minute winner to secure back-to-back victories for the first time this season, causing further misery for Goteborg<\/a>, who remain in the bottom two and without a win.<\/p>\n The first half was an even contest, with both sides showing attacking intent but not the finishes in merited, but in the second period, the visitors began to take control, as Paulos Abraham<\/a> and Nikola Vasic<\/a> were both denied by Elis Bishesari<\/a>.<\/p>\n A winner for Bajen was coming, and it arrived deep into added time, when a cross into the box was chested down by defender Rockson Yeboah<\/a>, who lost his footing and allowed Oscar Johansson<\/a> to play the ball across goal to be tapped in by Victor Eriksson<\/a>, who was only being played onside by the prostrate Yeboah.<\/p>\n Vasteras 0-1 GAIS<\/a><\/p>\n GAIS are another side on their way up the table after a poor start – they are up to eighth after one goal was enough for a second consecutive victory amid a four-game unbeaten run, as Vasteras<\/a> were beaten at home for the first time since promotion.<\/p>\n The goal arrived just over 10 minutes into the second half, as Rasmus Niklasson<\/a> chased a ball over the top and did well to hold off multiple defenders before squaring to Robert Thorkelsson<\/a>, who steered it into the bottom corner.<\/p>\n Vasteras have slipped to 12th following back-to-back defeats, though they and the eighth-placed Mackerels are both on eight points.<\/p>\n
