The meeting focused on cooperation between Lithuania and Ukraine in the defense industry, negotiations on Ukraine\u2019s membership in the European Union, regional security, and the situation on the front line.<\/p>\n
“Lithuania supports and will continue to support Ukraine in all areas by providing comprehensive political, military, financial, and humanitarian assistance. We are also making every effort to support the energy sector and other areas, while contributing to efforts to locate Ukrainian children deported to Russia and help bring them home,” the president said.<\/p>\n
President Naus\u0117da highlighted the importance of strengthening air defense cooperation and developing localization of the defense industry, noting that Lithuania is a NATO country on Alliance\u2019s eastern flank, investing in Ukraine\u2019s defense sector.<\/p>\n
“Despite enormous losses and economic difficulties, Russia does not appear willing to end its aggression. Therefore, rather than focusing solely on the prospect of peace, we must work together with our NATO and EU partners to make collective decisions that will ensure Ukraine receives the support it needs both this year and in the future,” the Lithuanian leader underlined.<\/p>\n
President Naus\u0117da also reiterated that Lithuania\u2019s strategic goal is Ukraine\u2019s full membership in the European Union by 2030.
