The massive 8,278-piece build replicates the capital city of Gondor from Peter Jackson’s film trilogy.

Retail pricing for the set is established at $649.99 in the United States and £579.99 in the United Kingdom as reported by Polygon. The model stands over 23.5 inches high and 24.5 inches wide, making it larger than the Millennium Falcon build but smaller than the Lego Death Star.

The design utilizes a specific scale strategy to balance city architecture with playable areas. Lego describes the Minas Tirith set as a “hybrid microscale and minifigure-scale design.”

The interior features locations such as the citadel and throne room. Ten minifigures are included in the box, featuring characters like Aragorn, Arwen, Gandalf the White, Denethor, Pippin Took, Faramir, and four Soldiers of Gondor.

A secondary set, the Lego Icons The Lord of the Rings: Grond (40893), was also revealed as a promotional item. It features a functional wolf-headed battering ram and two Orc minifigures. This set is a Gift with Purchase (GWP) available specifically for those who buy the Minas Tirith set between June 1 and June 7, 2026.

Jay’s Brick Blog noted the thematic accuracy of the smaller siege model. “GROND! GROND! GROND!” said Jay’s Brick Blog.

The blog highlighted that the battering ram’s design stays true to the source material found in the cinematic adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s work. “40893 Grond looks great, with flames spewing out of his jaws, and suspended on might chains, just like the movie,” said Jay’s Brick Blog.

The reviewer further commented on the literary connection of the weapon’s name. “Grond in the movie is named after Morgoth’s mace, Grond, the Hammer of the Underworld, and that just delights my nerdly little Tolkien heart,” said Jay’s Brick Blog.

The promotional set is designed to be accessible to fans without locking unique elements behind a high price wall. “40893 Grond is a GWP done right,” said Jay’s Brick Blog.

The blog noted that while the set is a high-quality companion, it does not include pieces that cannot be found elsewhere. “It perfectly complements the big set that it lays siege to, but doesn’t contain any exclusive elements or minifigures (the Orc components can be made from Barad-Dur minifigures), so good on LEGO for not gatekeeping anything exclusive behind this GWP,” said Jay’s Brick Blog.

The review concluded by recommending the item for those planning to purchase the main fortress early. “If you’re going to buy the big LEGO Lord of the Rings set at launch, 40893 Grond is a nice little GWP that rewards early adopters,” said Jay’s Brick Blog.

Availability for the Minas Tirith set begins June 1, 2026, for Lego Insiders members through early access. The general public will be able to purchase the set starting June 4, 2026.

The Lego Group and Warner Bros. officially unveiled the Lego Icons The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith…

[6050
42909,42910,4248,6051,27889,42908
0":"post-80677","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-lego","8":"tag-gondor","9":"tag-grond-battering-ram","10":"tag-lego","11":"tag-lego-group","12":"tag-lord-of-the-rings","13":"tag-minas-tirith
["GET
