Tesla is officially hitting its stride in Europe, and the numbers coming out of Germany are a testament to that. Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, which serves as the automaker\u2019s primary manufacturing hub for the European continent, has officially surpassed a massive milestone: 750,000 vehicles built since it first went online in 2022.<\/p>\n

The official Tesla Manufacturing account celebrated the achievement on X. The post<\/a> was accompanied by a high-energy video showcasing the sheer scale of the operation, from the massive casting presses to the final assembly line where thousands of Model Ys are born every single week.<\/p>\n

A Powerhouse of Precision Engineering<\/p>\n

While the 750,000-vehicle mark is the headline, the video reveals that Giga Berlin is doing much more than just bolting cars together. The facility recently hit 1 million drive units produced<\/a>, and its stamping shop has already produced over 10 million individual parts. This high level of vertical integration is what allows Tesla to maintain its industry-leading margins and scale as quickly as it does.<\/p>\n

The factory also boasts what Tesla calls the most advanced paint shop in the world. Using hundreds of robots, the facility can apply up to seven layers of paint to achieve a depth and quality that was previously impossible in high-volume production. Even more impressive is the “final check” process; once a car rolls off the line, it is capable of driving itself to the outbound lot using Full Self-Driving (FSD). In fact, Model Ys at Giga Berlin have already driven a combined 93,000 miles (150,000 km) on FSD without a human behind the wheel just to get to their shipping stalls.<\/p>\n

Scaling Up for a Record Year<\/p>\n

Tesla isn’t stopping at three-quarters of a million. The company is currently in the middle of a 20% production increase<\/a> that will see the factory adding 1,000 new workers to its roster. This expansion comes after a record-breaking first quarter in 2026, where Giga Berlin averaged nearly 4,700 vehicles per week.<\/p>\n

Plant manager Andr\u00e9 Thierig has been vocal about the team’s success, noting that the goal is to continue pushing the limits of the site’s capacity. This growth will also deliver on a promise made by Elon Musk<\/a> to reward the workforce after they voted against a union majority<\/a> in a recent works council election.<\/p>\n

The Road to 1 Million and Beyond<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the future of Giga Berlin looks even more “electric.” By 2027, Tesla plans to have 8 GWh of battery production capacity<\/a> active at the site, further reducing its reliance on outside suppliers. With the 1-million-vehicle milestone now clearly in sight, the facility is proving to be a pillar of Tesla’s global expansion strategy.<\/p>\n

As the Model Y continues to dominate as one of the world’s best-selling cars, Giga Berlin\u2019s efficiency remains a key competitive advantage. We expect to see the factory hit that million-car mark by mid-2027 \u2014 if not earlier, with the newly hired staff and production ramp.
