\n Danish renewables firm \u00d8rsted is hiring offshore wind turbine technicians for roles based in Liverpool, Grimsby, and Barrow, offering a chance to work in the heart of the UK\u2019s expanding green energy industry.\n<\/p>\n
\n The company operates 12 offshore wind farms in the UK and is currently building Hornsea 3, which is set to become the world\u2019s largest offshore wind farm.\n<\/p>\n
\n Darren Ramshaw, head of operations and maintenance for \u00d8rsted UK, said: “This is a great opportunity to join the growing industry of renewable energy.\n<\/p>\n
\n “My career began in the steel industry and I’ve seen first-hand how core skills can be transferred directly into renewable energy.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We\u2019re looking for a safety-first mindset and rigorous approach to maintenance and problem-solving and people who work great in a team.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Hornsea 3 will generate 2.9 GW of clean energy, enough to power more than 3.3 million homes and bring \u00d8rsted\u2019s UK total to more than nine million homes\u2014about 10 per cent of the country\u2019s demand.\n<\/p>\n
\n The technician roles involve maintaining and repairing wind turbines, either offshore on two-week rotations or on seven-day shifts closer to shore, depending on the site.\n<\/p>\n
\n Applicants should have mechanical or electrical experience, though previous wind turbine experience is not essential.\n<\/p>\n
\n Technicians may indicate a preferred shift pattern in their cover letter.\n<\/p>\n
\n Courtney Doughty, a wind turbine technician at \u00d8rsted UK, said: “I love working out at sea for a two-week shift as it\u2019s meant I\u2019ve been able to travel on my off shift.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The balance really works for me.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Travelling to work via vessel and sometimes helicopter is a cool commute.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The industry is ever-growing and being part of the team means lots of opportunities and it helps that it\u2019s a great lunch time view.”\n<\/p>\n
\n \u00d8rsted employs more than 1,100 people across the UK and is a leader in operating and maintaining offshore wind facilities.\n<\/p>\n
