{"id":81908,"date":"2026-05-13T22:07:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T22:07:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/81908\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T22:07:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T22:07:14","slug":"abu-dhabi-investor-acquires-hornsea-3-stake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/81908\/","title":{"rendered":"Abu Dhabi Investor Acquires Hornsea 3 Stake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mubadala Investment Company has invested USD 325 million (approximately EUR 300 million) in the UK\u2019s Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm, being built by \u00d8rsted at a site located around 120 kilometres off the Norfolk coast.<\/p>\n<p>The Abu Dhabi-based investor is joining a consortium led by Apollo-managed funds, which also includes USS and La Caisse. The investment follows Apollo Funds\u2019 acquisition of a 50 per cent stake in the joint venture that owns Hornsea 3. \u00d8rsted retains the remaining 50 per cent and will build and operate the project on behalf of the partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Offshore construction work on Hornsea 3 is already underway, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshorewind.biz\/2026\/03\/31\/first-hornsea-3-offshore-substation-stands-complete\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the first of the project\u2019s two offshore substations<\/a> in place, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshorewind.biz\/2026\/03\/26\/first-hornsea-3-offshore-export-cable-in-place\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the first export cable<\/a> installed, and the commencement of foundation installation.<\/p>\n<p>With a planned capacity of 2.9 GW, Hornsea 3 is expected to become the world\u2019s largest single offshore wind farm once operational, generating enough renewable electricity to power more than 3.3 million UK homes.
