Finland is not facing any direct military threat,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Petteri Orpo told reporters at a press conference that his government &#8220;informed Ukraine that under no circumstances is it acceptable for drones to stray into Finland.&#8221; The Nordic country has not yet confirmed whether it identified the exact origin of the unmanned vehicle that flew over Helsinki Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier the same day, Orpo also <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PetteriOrpo\/status\/2055121242978386056?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2055121242978386056%7Ctwgr%5Eac1d794f3ce480f3f3da2e9b2de740f33109b7f6%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fyle.fi%2Fa%2F74-20226061\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">urged<\/a> calm, reassuring citizens that Finland&#8217;s armed forces &#8220;have intensified their surveillance and counter-capabilities&#8221; and &#8220;official measures&#8221; were &#8220;underway.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The danger has passed. People can go to work and school safely,&#8221; Interior Minister Mari Rantanen <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MariPSRantanen\/status\/2055140139991535926?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">wrote<\/a> on X early Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The incident came amid a large-scale overnight Ukrainian <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/mod_russia\/63646\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">drone attack<\/a> on Russian territory. The Russian Ministry of Defense said it had shot down 355 drones, including in the Pskov region bordering Estonia and Latvia.<\/p>\n<p>The Finnish alert was <a href=\"https:\/\/intermin.fi\/-\/pelastusylijohtaja-vaara-ohi-kouluihin-ja-toihin-on-turvallista-menna\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">lifted<\/a> shortly after 7 a.m. local time. No casualties or damage were reported. Flights at Helsinki-Vantaa airport were disrupted for three hours but have since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finavia.fi\/en\/newsroom\/2026\/air-traffic-helsinki-airport-has-resumed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">resumed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Friday\u2019s incident is not the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/two-cross-border-drones-crash-in-finland\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">drone-related spillover<\/a> from Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine to hit Finland.
