The UK’s Eurovision star Look Mum No Computer<\/a> – whose real name is Sam Battle – was spotted sitting alone in the huge arena in Vienna last night in a moment that broke fans’ hearts. The YouTube<\/a> star, 37, came dead last in the contest – picking up just one point, from Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n His song and the UK ended up finishing 515 points behind Bulgaria and its winner Dara<\/a>, 27, after landing no points in the public vote. But it the image of him sitting alone in the Eurovision green room while other acts were surrounded by their teams that made many people’s hearts go out to him.<\/p>\n Sam was shown sitting on a semi-circle sofa by himself, with a crumpled Union Jack beside him, at one point giving a wave to people watching. Some accused the UK delegation of “disrespecting their own act” by leaving him by himself. The moment is thought to have taken place during a rehearsal.<\/p>\n Denmark were represented last night by S\u00f8ren Torpegaard Lund, a 27-year-old musical theatre star who plays Tony in West Side Story in Copenhagen. He was later seen in the middle of his team, surrounded by people waving Danish flags.<\/p>\n One Eurovision fan fumed: “Sorry but if I was Head of Delegation for the UK I wouldn\u2019t have my act sitting on his own at the top of the Jury show (when points matter) and them having to be adopted by lovely Denmark after the flag parade. Thank you to the Danes. Sam we support you…”<\/p>\n Sam was later ‘adopted’ by the Danish delegation on their sofa(Image: Tomcross\/X)<\/p>\n People are often joined by their songwriters, choreographers and backstage staff supporting them and waving flags – though Sam is known to do much of the work himself.<\/p>\n Rylan Clark explaining he found him making his own set<\/a> in a break between shows and even turned down the offer of help, saying: “It’s alright mate, don’t worry.”<\/p>\n The Eurovision host said: “He’s made pretty much all of the set. Yesterday between both shows, you have a rehearsal and then the show last night, he was on the main stage tinkering with his synthesiser because one of the lights wasn’t working.<\/p>\n “I was like, ‘Sam, you know we have people who can help you and he was like, ‘no, it’s alright mate, don’t worry.’ It’s incredible.”<\/p>\n Bulgaria\u2019s Dara<\/a> won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Bangaranga last night, finishing with an impressive 516 points, ahead of Israel<\/a>\u2019s Noam Bettan, with the song Michelle, on 343 points. Romania\u2019s Alexandra Capitanescu, who performed the controversial song Choke Me, came third.<\/p>\n The UK gave its 12 points to France in the jury vote of the Eurovision 2026 grand final.
