{"id":86080,"date":"2026-05-19T12:26:04","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T12:26:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/86080\/"},"modified":"2026-05-19T12:26:04","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T12:26:04","slug":"first-electric-test-runs-on-key-baltic-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/86080\/","title":{"rendered":"First electric test runs on key Baltic line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                    Lithuania has completed first electric test runs on its main Vilnius\u2013Klaip\u0117da line, as the country\u2019s largest rail electrification project nears completion.\n                <\/p>\n<p>\n                Lithuania is approaching a major milestone in its rail modernisation, as the Vilnius\u2013Klaip\u0117da line enters the final phase of electrification.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                An electric train has completed its first test run on a newly electrified section between Kai\u0161iadorys and \u017deimiai, marking the start of system-wide testing on the country\u2019s main rail artery.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                The project, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/railmarket.com\/eu\/profile\/ltg-infra\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LTG Infra<\/a>, covers 363 km of railway and represents the largest infrastructure upgrade in Lithuania\u2019s rail sector. Once completed, the share of electrified lines in the country will increase from 8% to 28%, significantly reshaping the national network.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                For rail operators, the electrification of this corridor is particularly relevant.
