Modi repeatedly used the word \u201csambandh&#8221; \u2014connection, relationship, or bond in Hindi \u2014 and pointed out that the word carried a remarkably similar meaning in several Nordic languages.<\/p>\n<p>The word, like many others, originate from the shared heritage of Indo-European group of languages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, I used the word \u2018sambandh\u2019 many times. In several Nordic languages, the word \u2018sambandh\u2019 means connection, relations, a bond. In Hindi too, \u2018sambandh\u2019 carries the same meaning. This is not just a similarity of words, it reflects the closeness of our thoughts. Let us deepen the bonds between us in every field and make the India-Nordic partnership a model of shared prosperity, innovation, and a sustainable future,&#8221; Modi said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event, Iceland Prime Minister Kristrun Frostadottir noted that \u2018sambandh\u2019 was a \u201cpurely Icelandic word.&#8221; \u201cThere are so many things that we can do together and I just have to say I love that word \u2018sambandh\u2019. it is such a purely Icelandic word and people will be very devoted to this language, Prime Minister Modi, because this is what we need.
