{"id":8764,"date":"2026-02-11T00:55:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T00:55:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/8764\/"},"modified":"2026-02-11T00:55:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T00:55:06","slug":"situation-onboard-caesarea-trader-under-control-following-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/8764\/","title":{"rendered":"Situation onboard Caesarea Trader &#8220;under control&#8221; following fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The situation onboard the DFDS cargo ship that caught fire on its way from Jersey to Portsmouth\u00a0yesterday is \u201cunder control\u201d, the Danish shipping firm has said as it awaits the arrival of a back-up vessel to help with freight sailings.<\/p>\n<p>The update follows\u00a0an emergency response to a fire in the engine room of the Caesarea Trader\u00a0\u2013 previously the Condor-owned Commodore Goodwill \u2013 first reported at around 4.15pm on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>In a further statement this morning, DFDS said that the vessel remains safely anchored off the Isle of Wight and that all crew members and the one passenger onboard are safe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe onboard situation is under control,\u201d the update stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDFDS is working with port authorities to bring the vessel into port at an appropriate time for further assessment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It explained that, to maintain freight connectivity to Jersey, Stena Vinga \u2013 which also operates on the Portsmouth route \u2013 will carry out \u201can additional freight-only sailing\u201d today, which was scheduled to depart Portsmouth at 10:30am this morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImpacted freight customers will be contacted directly,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBack-up vessel MV Arrow is sailing from Dunkerque today and is expected to arrive in Portsmouth at 6am tomorrow.
