Delivery Hero confirmed over the weekend that it had received the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The offer pushed Delivery Hero shares higher on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t &#13;<\/p>\n<p>The stock rose more than 10 per cent in Frankfurt trading and reached its highest level since late 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Reports from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/04f5d191-f5d9-4221-bf62-c34c879ab81b?syn-25a6b1a6=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Financial Times<\/a> said Uber\u2019s board discussed raising the offer after some shareholders rejected a separate proposal of 38 euros per share. According to the newspaper, several investors seek a price above 40 euros.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The proposed deal would bring together two large food delivery operators with overlapping operations across Europe, Asia and Latin America. Analysts said competition authorities in the European Union would face pressure to examine the transaction due to the companies\u2019 presence in many of the same markets.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Brokerage firm Jefferies said Uber and Delivery Hero overlap in 22 countries, including nine in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Delivery Hero owns the Foodora brand, which operated in Finland for a decade before withdrawing from the market in February. The company said at the time that it wanted to focus investment on markets where it held a stronger position.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The exit left Wolt as the main app-based food delivery platform in Finland until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.helsinkitimes.fi\/finland\/finland-news\/domestic\/28522-ft-uber-eats-to-launch-in-finland-after-foodora-exit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Uber Eats launched<\/a> in the country this month.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The Finnish market has changed rapidly during the past year. US delivery company DoorDash completed its acquisition of Wolt earlier, while European rivals have faced pressure from rising costs and competition.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Delivery Hero has also faced investor scrutiny over its strategy and profitability.
