Taking place from 9am on Sunday, June 7, it will start from Grimsby Town Hall with a route including Scartho Road, Louth Road and Peaks Parkway before finishing in People\u2019s Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">With more than 3,000 runners expected to take on the challenge, it\u2019s set to be another great occasion for all involved. It will also mean that, as always, a number of roads in the town will be temporarily closed to allow the event to take place safely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The following <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk\/all-about\/traffic-travel\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">roads <\/a>will be closed for part of the morning and are expected to reopen by 11.45am:<\/p>\n<p>Town Hall Square (from 6.30am)Doughty Road (from 6.30am)Abbey Road (from 8.15am)Bargate (Brighowgate to Nuns Corner) \u2013 A1243 (from 8.15am)Scartho Road A1243 (including roads accessed from it) (from 8.15am)Louth Road A1243 (including roads accessed from it) (from 8.15am)A16 Peaks Parkway (Louth Road roundabout to Welholme Road) (from 8.15am)Welholme Road (A16 Peaks Parkway to Bargate A1243) (from 8.15am)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Access to Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital will be maintained at all times with public access during the road closures via Second Avenue. Hospital managers and East Midlands Ambulance Service have plans in place and all hospital departments have been informed to support patients with appointments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Meanwhile, no access or exit will be available at Scartho Top from Matthew Telford Way. A staffed contraflow on Pelham Avenue will allow access to Waltham Road. This applies to Scartho Top, Pelham Avenue, The Oval, Crake Avenue, Sophia Avenue, Ferriby Lane, and Fauconberg Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A contraflow will also be in place, including temporary removal of the one\u2011way system, at Wintringham Road East. This will allow access to Hainton Avenue and applies to Wintringham Road, Farebrother Street, Legsby Avenue, Ainslie Street, Lambert Road, Ludford Street, Abbey Drive East, Lampton Grove, St Olafs Grove, and Abbots Way. It will not be possible to cross Welholme Road from Peaks Parkway through to Bargate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">At Louth Road roundabout, access and exit from Becklands Estate will be maintained towards Toll Bar roundabout. Anyone needing to leave Louth Road is advised to park in Southfield Avenue before 8am, allowing a left turn onto Waltham Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Tape2Tape, organisers of the \u00d8rsted Great Grimsby 10k, have apologised for any inconvenience caused by the road closures. Neil and Nicola Pattison, race directors, said: \u201cThe \u00d8rsted Great Grimsby 10k is one of the biggest sporting events in the area, attracting runners from across the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cThe race supports many local community groups and charities and encourages people to stay active, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing. Our number one priority is the safety of runners, volunteers and the public.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cWe ask that drivers do not attempt to access the race route, as this puts runners, volunteers, including children, and themselves at risk.
