Since the beginning of May, the operator has already received 23 new units as part of a record-breaking contract for the delivery of 75 trains.

The two most recent trains delivered under the first implementation agreement were unveiled at Warszawa Główna station. The new units are already in service on certain regional routes, and additional trains are set to enter service in the coming period.

By the end of this year, Koleje Mazowieckie is expected to receive 53 new FLIRT trains. The entire contract includes 75 vehicles, all manufactured at the Stadler Polska plant in Siedlce, a city also located in the Mazovia Voivodeship.

“The new vehicles will offer our passengers even greater comfort and safety during their journey. Their environmental aspect is also important. Thanks to their lightweight construction and energy recovery system, FLIRT trains consume less electricity, which means both a lower environmental impact and lower operating costs,” said Czesław Sulima, member of the Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer of Koleje Mazowieckie.

Record Contract for Koleje Mazowieckie

Koleje Mazowieckie is one of Poland’s leading regional operators, serving the Mazovia region, which accounts for a significant portion of commuter traffic to and from Warsaw. For such an operator, fleet renewal has a direct impact on the daily mobility of passengers in the metropolitan area and in the towns surrounding the Polish capital.

The new FLIRT trains are being delivered at an accelerated pace. According to Stadler Polska, 23 trains have already been delivered to Koleje Mazowieckie since the beginning of May, and production of the next units is underway.

“Delivering a project of this magnitude in such a short timeframe requires excellent cooperation between the teams involved on both sides. Every week we deliver additional vehicles, while production of the next units is already underway. Since the beginning of May, we have delivered 23 new trains to Koleje Mazowieckie—a record pace, made possible by the extraordinary commitment and excellent cooperation with the client. I would like to thank Koleje Mazowieckie for their openness, effective communication, and partnership-based approach in implementing this project,” said Radosław Banach, CEO of Stadler Polska.

160 km/h trains with 582 seats

The new FLIRT trains for Mazovia are five-car sets capable of carrying up to 582 passengers, including 261 seated passengers. The trains can travel at speeds of up to 160 km/h and are intended for regional and commuter services operated by Koleje Mazowieckie.

The trains feature spacious boarding areas, a high proportion of low-floor sections, and are fully accessible to people with disabilities, passengers with strollers, and cyclists. Amenities include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a modern passenger information system, and safety equipment.

These include ETCS Level 2, the European Train Control System, CCTV video monitoring, AED defibrillators, and emergency intercoms. Thus, the trains not only provide added comfort but also modernize safety and operational standards on regional routes in Mazovia.

The contract includes maintenance and training

The agreement between Koleje Mazowieckie and Stadler covers more than just the delivery of the vehicles. The contract also includes train maintenance, staff training, and repair packages—all essential for the long-term operation of the fleet.

Share on:
<a class="synved-social-button
