Bj\u00f8rn was born in 1940 and was a member of the Copenhagen Boys Choir as a young man, before he had his breakthrough in 1963. In 1963, he competed in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix and came second with \u201cAmiga mia\u201d, coming second to Grethe and J\u00f8rgen Ingmann, who would go on to win the Eurovision Song Contest 1963.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He would return to Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 1964 and won the contest to represent Denmark in Copenhagen. He took to the stage with \u201cSangen om dig\u201d, which would place 9th in the competition. Following the contest, he would go on to be a popular singer in the 60s and 70s. To date, Denmark has won the contest on three occasions, the first being in 1963 when Grethe &amp; Jorgen Ingmann performed \u201cDansevise\u201d. Denmark won the contest again in 2000, represented by the Olsen Brothers.
