All flights to and from Brussels Airport have been cancelled this afternoon due to an “unannounced strike”. The Belgian capital is a popular city break choice for many holidaymakers at this time of year, and it’s a key airport for travel across Europe. Flights have come to a halt this afternoon.<\/p>\n
Brussels Airport has informed travellers<\/a> of last-minute strike strike action on Tuesday (June 2). Travellers were told “do not come to the airport” if they were scheduled to fly from Brussels between 2pm and 9pm.<\/p>\n Air traffic control strikes stop planes from taking off or landing due to strike action from the workers.<\/a><\/p>\n Today, no flights will take off or land into Brussels Airport between 2pm and 9pm.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n A statement from Brussels Airport said: “Unannounced strike at skeyes on June 2nd 2026. No flights between 2 and 9 pm.<\/p>\n “All flights to and from Brussels Airport between 2 pm and 9 pm will unfortunately have to be cancelled by the airlines. Please do not come to the airport if you are flying between 2 pm and 9 pm. More info on the website.”<\/p>\n The disruption also affects some of Belgium’s other major airport including Antwerp, Charleroi, Liege and Ostend-Bruges.<\/p>\n Belgium follows Schengen area rules. Your passport must have a “\u2018date of issue” less than 10 years before the date you arrive.<\/p>\n Your passport must also have an “expiry date” at least three months after the date you plan to leave the Schengen area (the expiry date does not need to be within 10 years of the date of issue)<\/p>\n Check with your travel provider that your passport and other travel documents meet requirements.
