Make sure you\u2019re   <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/account\/newsletters\/brussels-edition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"media-ui-Link_link-tVkXhPLPofs-\" data-component=\"link\">    signed up  <\/a>  .<\/p>\n<p class=\"ArticleBodyText_articleBodyContent__17wqE typography_articleBody___5jDr\" data-component=\"paragraph\">Brussels delivered its regular report card on the state of the European economy today, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-06-03\/eu-allows-room-for-energy-crisis-aid-but-with-a-green-emphasis\" title=\"EU Allows Room for Energy Crisis Aid, But With a Green Emphasis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"media-ui-Link_link-tVkXhPLPofs-\" data-component=\"link\">urging countries<\/a> to lower single market barriers and boost innovation.<\/p>\n<p>Ten countries are deemed to be in the bloc\u2019s excessive deficit procedure for breaching the EU\u2019s fiscal rules, including economic behemoths France and Italy.
