{"id":99258,"date":"2026-06-03T22:13:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T22:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/99258\/"},"modified":"2026-06-03T22:13:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T22:13:11","slug":"survey-support-of-berlins-olympic-bid-drops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/99258\/","title":{"rendered":"Survey: Support of Berlin&#8217;s Olympic bid drops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A majority of Berlin residents supports the city&#8217;s planned Olympic bid but the backing is less than at a first survey conducted three months ago.<\/p>\n<p>The survey by the Dimap institute commissioned by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) said that 38% said &#8220;yes&#8221; and 18% &#8220;more or less yes&#8221; when asked whether they backed the bid.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>At the other end, 25% said &#8220;no&#8221; and 13% &#8220;more or less no.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In March, 60% supported the bid which means a drop of 4%. The opposition to the bid rose by 7% from 31%.<\/p>\n<p>The survey was conducted May 26-30 among 1,205 people in the German capital.<\/p>\n<p>Berlin&#8217;s Olympics commissioner Kaweh Niroomand said that &#8220;56% backing are a strong result and show that the majority of Berliners know about the opportunities an Olympic bid offers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Berlin is competing against Munich and a Cologne led Rhine-Ruhr area bid for the 2036, 2040 or 2044 Games. The DOSB will select the bidder and the year on September 26.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Munich&#8217;s bid has been backed by 66.4% in a referendum and Cologne\/Rhine-Ruhr by 66%.
