Tema hinnangul ootab Euroopat ees \u201ehiiliv \u00fclev\u00f5tmine\u201c, mida soodustavad Euroopa tootjate probleemid: karmid keskkonnan\u00f5uded, elektriautodele \u00fclemineku kulukus, poliitiline ebakindlus ja kaubanduss\u00f5jad.<\/p>\n<p>Tavares s\u00f5lmis ise lepingu Hiina tootjaga Leapmotor, andes sellele v\u00f5imaluse siseneda rahvusvahelistele turgudele, kuid m\u00e4rkis, et ka sellel partnerlusel on selged Hiina-poolsed ambitsioonid ja \u201enad tahavad meid \u00fchel hetkel alla neelata.\u201c Tema s\u00f5nul on BYD ja teised Hiina kaubam\u00e4rgid j\u00f5udsalt suurendamas turuosa Euroopas, pakkudes soodsama hinnaga ja tehnoloogiliselt arenenud elektriautosid.<\/p>\n<p>Ta kritiseerib Euroopa Liidu plaani keelata sisep\u00f5lemismootorid aastaks 2035, pidades seda kulukaks ja l\u00e4bim\u00f5tlematuks otsuseks. Tema arvates loobub EL sellest keelust l\u00f5puks nagunii, sest \u201ekeegi ei vastuta 100 miljardi euro eest, mis investeeriti kasutusse tehnoloogiasse\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Tavares usub, et ellu j\u00e4\u00e4b vaid viis-kuus suurt globaalse haardega autotootjat, nende seas Toyota, Hyundai, BYD ja veel \u00fcks-kaks Hiina firmat, nagu Geely. Tesla tulevikku peab ta k\u00fcsitavaks ja prognoosib, et Elon Musk keskendub l\u00f5puks teistele valdkondadele.
