Die Balearen werden am Verbot neuer Ferienvermietungslizenzen in Mehrfamilienhäusern festhalten – trotz der Warnung der Europäischen Union, die sich gegen das von der Landesregierung geplante Verbot stellt. Das erklärte Tourismusminister Jaume Bauzà am Dienstagvormittag (24.3.) und betonte, die Balearen-Regierung werde „keinen Schritt zurückweichen“, weil diese Maßnahme „im Interesse der Gemeinschaft und der Einwohner“ notwendig sei.

„ Wir halten die Maßnahme für richtig, und es wird keine neuen touristischen Lizenzen in Mehrfamilienhäusern geben. Wir werden sehen, wie weit diese Empfehlungen und Warnungen reichen, aber für uns ist die Sache vollkommen klar“, sagte Bauzà.

Der Minister führte weiter aus, neue Lizenzen in Mehrfamilienhäusern „trügen zur Wohnungsknappheit auf den Inseln bei“ und belasteten „das Zusammenleben von Einwohnern und Urlaubern“ im selben Gebäude. „Wir alle kennen die Probleme, die daraus entstehen. Wir sind überzeugt, dass wir das Richtige getan haben – zum Wohl dieser Gemeinschaft und ihrer Bewohner. Deshalb werden wir keinen Schritt zurückweichen“, bekräftigte er.

Die Argumente der Europäischen Union

Zu den Gründen, mit denen sich die EU gegen die Maßnahme stellt, erklärte Bauzà, diese hingen vor allem mit der Forderung zusammen, ein solches Verbot nur gebietsweise und nicht flächendeckend einzuführen.

„Ihr Argument dafür, dass wir dieses Verbot nicht umsetzen sollten, lautet, dass es nach Vierteln oder Zonen geregelt werden müsse. Wir sind jedoch der Ansicht, dass das Wohnungsproblem in dieser Region ein generelles ist. Auf allen Balearen-Inseln gibt es Schwierigkeiten, Wohnraum zu finden. Deshalb können wir nicht zulassen, dass weitere Lizenzen in Mehrfamilienhäusern vergeben werden“, sagte der Minister.

Zwar müsse man die Empfehlungen und Warnungen aus Brüssel prüfen, so Bauzà weiter, doch die Antwort der Balearen-Regierung werde darin bestehen, „das Verbot neuer Lizenzen in Mehrfamilienhäusern zu bekräftigen“. /jk
