Daraus wurde Europas f\u00fchrende Zahnpasta-Marke.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-18 leading-17 user-text-lg:text-22 user-text-xl:text-24\">Ein Dresdner Apotheker mischte 1907 auf dem Dachboden seiner L\u00f6wenapotheke am Altmarkt eine Zahncreme aus Bimssteinpulver, \u00e4therischen \u00d6len und Pfefferminz \u2013 und f\u00fcllte sie in wiederverschlie\u00dfbare Metalltuben ab. Ottomar Heinsius von Mayenburg nannte sein Produkt Chlorodont, nach den griechischen W\u00f6rtern f\u00fcr &#8222;gr\u00fcn&#8220; und &#8222;Zahn&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-18 leading-17 user-text-lg:text-22 user-text-xl:text-24\">Vor der modernen Zahnpasta nutzte man h\u00e4ufig Zahnpulver aus Bimsstein, Marmorstaub oder \u00e4hnlichen Stoffen, verkauft in T\u00fctchen oder Dosen. In den USA war Zahnpasta in der Tube zwar schon bekannt, doch Ottomar Heinsius von Mayenburg machte mit Chlorodont die Metalltube in Deutschland besonders erfolgreich und popul\u00e4r.<\/p>\n<p>Vom Dachboden zum gr\u00f6\u00dften Zahnpasta-Hersteller Europas<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-18 leading-17 user-text-lg:text-22 user-text-xl:text-24\">Der Erfolg kam schnell. Die Betriebsgeschichte der Leo-Werke setzte sich \u00fcber den VEB Elbe-Chemie fort; aus dieser Tradition ging sp\u00e4ter die Dental-Kosmetik GmbH in der Dresdner Neustadt hervor.
