In the eurozone, the figure for the period fell by 0.1% compared with June

In July 2026, seasonally adjusted industrial production in the EU fell by 0.3% compared with the previous month and by 0.1% in the eurozone. This is shown by preliminary data from Eurostat.

Among the Member States, the largest monthly increase in production was recorded in Luxembourg (+4.5%), Croatia (+3.9%) and Ireland (+2.6%). The sharpest declines were recorded in Denmark (-4.2%), Bulgaria (-2.9%) and Lithuania (-2.4%).

On a year-on-year basis, industrial production in the eurozone in July remained at the same level as in the same period of 2025, whilst in the EU it rose by 0.3%.

The largest increases compared with July 2025 were recorded in the Netherlands (+8.2%), Croatia (+7.2%) and Lithuania (+6.5%). The largest decreases were observed in Bulgaria (-6.8%), Romania (-6.3%) and Belgium (-5.6%).

In July this year, compared with June, production in the energy sector rose by 0.9% in the eurozone and by 0.6% in the EU. Year-on-year, the figure rose by 4% and 2.5% respectively.

As a reminder, on 10 September, the European Central Bank raised its three key interest rates for the second time this year — they rose by 25 basis points.

The ECB has left its inflation forecast for this year unchanged at 3%. However, the forecasts for 2027 and 2028 have been revised upwards compared with the June outlook — to 2.5% and 2.1% respectively. At the same time, the regulator has raised its forecast for eurozone GDP growth in 2026 to 0.9% (0.8% in the June review). This, in particular, demonstrates the region’s greater-than-expected economic resilience.
