Xpeng is engaged in talks with Volkswagen and other global automakers about acquiring a factory in Europe, as the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker’s existing contract manufacturing arrangement approaches its capacity limits. Elvis Cheng, Xpeng’s Managing Director for Northeastern Europe, confirmed the discussions at the Financial Times Future of the Car summit in London on 13 May.
