The 70th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest provides a real-world showcase for the next evolution of Disguise’s IP-based broadcast workflows, said the company
Disguise has extended its collaboration with Creative Technology (CT) to support the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. Marking the eighth consecutive year that the partners have supported the event, Disguise has deployed GX3 media servers to power visuals at the production.
Designed to meet Eurovision’s requirement for a flexible, scalable broadcast environment, the setup aims to support this year’s shift to a more LED-driven stage, while optimising workflows for Disguise’s IP-VFC cards.
This year’s Contest will be one of the first major live productions to deploy Disguise’s latest IP-VFC firmware update, which aims to significantly enhance performance for GX 3 servers and marks an “important milestone” in the company’s ST 2110 workflow technology.

Building on their longstanding relationship, Disguise engineers have worked alongside CT’s teams throughout rehearsals and live broadcasts on site, ensuring seamless integration and rapid response in a high-pressure live environment, said the company.
Commenting, Niklas Ljung, group technical director at Creative Technology, said, “Eurovision always succeeds in raising the bar creatively and technically. This year, the scale and flexibility of the LED environment is a key part of that ambition. Working with Disguise, we’ve been able to refine our workflows and build a system that supports both the creative vision and the reliability demands of a live broadcast of this magnitude.”
“The Eurovision Song Contest continues to set the benchmark for innovation in live entertainment, and is an incredibly exciting early showcase of our latest IP-VFC technology in a demanding broadcast environment,” added Camilla Powell, head of product at Disguise. “Through our continued partnership with Creative Technology, we’re proud to support one of the most ambitious live productions in the world.”
