The Eurovision Song Contest is over for another year, with Bulgaria being crowned 2026’s winner thanks to Dara’s ‘Bangaranga’ picking up 516 points. But as for the UK, the curse continues, as they suffered another humiliating result.
Look Mum No Computer, aka Sam Battle,was representing the UK with his synth-pop track ‘Eins, Zwei, Drei’ at Saturday night’s (16 May) final in Vienna, Austria.
But the upbeat song failed to impress the jury, with Sam scoring just one point from the Ukrainian jury.

When it came to the public vote, ‘Eins, Zwei, Drei’ fared even worse, failing to gain a single point. Following the result, Sam took to Threads to share: “Bulgaria honestly deserved winner!
“Met a lot of amazing folk the most important thing is we all tried our hardest. Regardless of what is against us. Whatever it may be. Gotta keep trying your hardest regardless of the foooookennnn outcome!!!.”
The UK has now placed last in the competition three times since 2019, with Sam Ryder’s ‘Spaceman’ in 2022 being the first song to crack the top five in over a decade.
At last year’s competition, the UK finished in 19th place with Remember Monday’s ‘What the Hell Just Happened?’

Elsewhere in the 2026 competition, Israel placed second with 343 points, and Romania placed third with 296 points. Joining the UK at the bottom were Austria with six points and Germany with 12.
Bulgaria won the jury vote with a score of 204 and the public vote with 312 points, making it the first time in almost 10 years that the jury and public were unanimous.
The 2027 competition will now be hosted in Bulgaria.
