The rules require chatbots to disclose when users are interacting with AI, while AI-generated or altered content must carry machine-readable markers and deepfakes must be labeled. The European Commission said the measures aim to \u201creduce deception and manipulation and help people make informed choices\u201d. They will also \u201cgive businesses clearer obligations and a practical way to show compliance\u201d. More than 180 organizations have already signed the related code of practice.<\/p>\n

It would also exempt banks with less than $10 billion in assets from some reporting requirements, up from the current $1.65 billion threshold.<\/p>\n The agencies said the changes would reduce regulatory burdens and improve oversight of community investments.
