{"id":124658,"date":"2026-08-27T07:47:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T07:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/124658\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T07:47:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T07:47:10","slug":"israel-may-expel-uk-and-european-officials-from-postwar-gaza-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/124658\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel may expel UK and European officials from postwar Gaza center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Israel is considering expelling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-906674\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">British<\/a>, and possibly other European, officials from the US-led coordination center for post-war Gaza, officials familiar with the details confirmed to The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">According to the officials, the possibility is being considered &#8220;in light of Britain&#8217;s conduct in recent months.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Britain currently has the second-largest delegation, after the US, at the CMCC headquarters in Kiryat Gat, and the deputy to the American general commanding the force is British.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">This comes after Foreign Minister Gideon Sa&#8217;ar recently Dutch representatives stationed at the headquarters following a series of anti-Israel measures taken by the Dutch government, the latest being legislation banning trade in Israeli products from the West Bank, east Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights, which will take effect next month.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, over 100 former diplomats from France and Britain published and signed an open letter accusing Israel of systemically destroying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/article-906689\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gaza<\/a> and its population.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The countries called the project &#8220;unacceptable,&#8221; with the UK adding it would prepare targeted sanctions against those involved in settlement expansion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Both countries recognized the State of Palestine in 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Separately, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker said on X\/Twitter on Saturday that Israel \u201cmust immediately withdraw the E1 settlement plans and halt settlement expansion in the West Bank.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ariella Roitman contributed to this report.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Israel is considering expelling British, and possibly other European, officials from the US-led coordination center for post-war Gaza,&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":124659,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[15,574,61710,10390,344,2974,145,173],"class_list":["post-124658","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-europe","tag-european","tag-gaza","tag-gaza-ceasefire","tag-gaza-war","tag-international","tag-international-news","tag-israel","tag-united-kingdom"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/124658","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=124658"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/124658\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/124659"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=124658"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=124658"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/europe\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=124658"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
