He predicted that more Chinese brands would enter and succeed in the European market.

Bohme was among 250 foreign media, clients, and social media influencers invited by Geely Automobile, China’s second-largest EV producer, to attend the event. Approximately 50 of those visitors came from Europe, the world’s third-largest car market.

Other Chinese carmakers, including Xpeng and Chery Automobile, also brought in hundreds—and in some cases thousands—of overseas visitors, with Europeans representing a significant portion.

This effort comes as Chinese EV makers shift away from a difficult domestic price war and pursue overseas expansion, seeking higher profit margins, particularly in Europe, while facing stricter regulations at home.

Dan Hearsch, global co-leader of the automotive and industrial practice at AlixPartners, noted that Europe has been more receptive to Chinese vehicle sales compared to the United States, citing higher trade barriers in the US.

Interactive table based on the Store Companies dataset for this report.

    Sort: Rank
Sort: Company A-Z
Sort: Headquarters A-Z

     #
Company
Headquarters
Focus
Scale
Note

      1
BYD Auto
Shenzhen, Guangdong
EVs, PHEVs, passenger cars
Very large
World’s leading EV maker

      2
SAIC Motor
Shanghai
Passenger &
