<\/p>\nWe continue with the second rehearsals for Eurovision 2026 and now, it\u2019s time for Armenia to go on stage, represented this year by SIM\u00d3N with the song \u201cPaloma Rumba\u201c, written by Lilit Navasardyan (music) and David Tserunyan, Eva Voskanyan & Rosa Linn (lyrics).<\/p>\n
Who is SIM\u00d3N?<\/p>\n
Simon Hovhannisyan, better known as SIM\u00d3N, was born on August 9, 1994 in Hrazdan in central Armenia. He studied economics at university but he did not pursue the field professionally, instead focusing on music and dance. Sim\u00f3n is not unknown to eurovision fans as in 2025, he participated in Depi Evratesil, the Armenian selection for Eurovision 2025, with \u201cAy Paparey Bye\u201d. He won the Armenian and international jury votes and finished second overall. Later that year, he released his second single \u201cParanoia\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Rehearsal<\/p>\n
If SIM\u00d3N\u2019s song for Armenia is all about the desire to quit his job for a more fulfilling life, then its performance is the moment he absolutely trashes the office after handing his letter of resignation to the boss*. We counted 16 boxes of paper piled high. And they don\u2019t stay stacked for long!<\/p>\n

To say he\u2019s elated to be leaving his old career behind is an understatement. Literal backflips are being done here. He starts the performance being hung upside down by his colleagues and ends it in a victory pose on top of them. Quite the metaphor! The Armenian singer is full of energy for these three minutes, giving every bpm of Paloma Rumba the movement it deserves. Our hyperactive hero at one point even takes the camera into his own hands; this is how enthusiastic he is to share his message with audiences watching at home.<\/p>\n

Generous SIM\u00d3N also treats viewers to an outfit reveal. Well, we say outfit reveal. The flimsy fabric that\u2019s subsequently on display would draw debate on whether it could be called an outfit or not. But one thing everyone will agree on \u2013 there\u2019s plenty to see! Throughout the performance up until that point, SIM\u00d3N can be found in yassified office attire.<\/p>\n
