Breaking Benjamin will tour Europe in June and July for the first time since 2017, with support from Chevelle and Return to Dust. The run kicks off June 6 at the Rock Im Park festival in Germany and includes 20 shows across the continent.<\/p>\n
Frontman Benjamin Burnley will travel to Europe by boat instead of plane because of his fear of flying. “I’m heading to Europe towards the end of the month. And I don’t fly, so I have to take a boat out there, so I have to leave a week earlier than everybody else,” Burnley said in an interview with Jesea Lee, per Yahoo!<\/a>.<\/p>\n Burnley leaves at the end of May, while his bandmates depart a week later. After the tour ends, Burnley will have to stay in London a few extra days to wait for his return ship.<\/p>\n \u201dAnd as long and drawn out as the [expletive] is, as boring as it is, every time I’m, like, \u2018Oh, man,’ I just think about flying and I’m, like, \u2018Okay, I’m good, actually,’\u201d Burnley said when asked about his fear of flying. “Honestly, I don’t like traveling in a… I’m really in the wrong profession. And I don’t like traveling or speed in any way.”<\/p>\n The group debuted new drummer Brian Medeiros at the Welcome to Rockville festival on May 9 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Medeiros replaced James Cassells from Asking Alexandria, who filled in for eight months after Shaun Foist stepped away to focus on his battle with Hashimoto’s disease.<\/p>\n Breaking Benjamin put out a new single called “Something Wicked<\/a>” earlier this month. The track signals the latest chapter for the Pennsylvania rockers and hints at a new album coming soon.<\/p>\n The European leg wraps on July 17 in London before they return to North America. A fall tour across the United States and Canada runs from September through October, with 43 dates scheduled.
