The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum tulee valkokankaille näillä näkymin jouluna 2027.

Seuraava Taru sormusten herrasta -elokuva on vajaan parin vuoden päästä julkaistava The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, joka sijoittuu aikaan ennen Peter Jacksonin ohjaaman alkuperäistrilogian tapahtumia. Andy Serkisin ohjaamasta seikkailusta on nyt paljastettu uutta tietoa juonikuvauksen muodossa, uutisoi Comicbook Movie.

Tähän mennessä elokuvan näyttelijäkaartista on virallisesti vahvistettu vasta Klonkkua esittävä Serkis ja Gandalfin rooliin palaava Ian McKellen. Myös Frodoa esittävän Elijah Woodin paluusta on vahvasti vihjailtu, mutta siitä ei ole vielä varmuutta.

Elokuvassa nähdään myös nuori Aragorn, jonka esittäjää ei ole vielä paljastettu.

Set in the shadowed time between Bilbo’s birthday disappearance and the Fellowship’s formation, this perilous journey through Middle-earth’s darkest corners reveals untold truths, tests the resolve of its future king, and explores the fractured soul and backstory of Gollum, one of Tolkien’s most enigmatic characters.”

J.R.R. Tolkienin tarinoiden ja hahmojen pohjalta käsikirjoituksen uuteen elokuvaan ovat tehneet Fran Walsh ja Philippa Boyens. Peter Jackson on mukana tuottajana.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollumin ensi-ilta on näillä näkymin 17. joulukuuta 2027.
