It is that, in awarding the prize to Machado, the Nobel Committee has provided an open invitation for Trump to continue, and even escalate, military intervention and gunboat diplomacy in Latin America. For Venezuela, this means violent regime change is firmly on the table.

  3. She apparently tried to present the physical medal to Trump. And John Bolton (old UN diplomat) said he was always worried Trump would try to pocket Teddy Roosevelt’s Nobel Prize from the Roosevelt room.

  4. The Nobel Committee? The same one that gave Obama the prize for what… getting elected? The same one that gave it to Yasser Arafat? And Henry Kissinger?

    The peace prize has been a joke for quite a while.

  5. For years I’ve wanted us to stop giving out the peace prize. It only ever leads to diplomatic headaches and embarrassment.

    1. Strip Machado if he award.

    2. Award the 2025 prize to the runner up

    3. Bar Trump and Machado from ever winning one in the future.
