Alex does his careful balancing act again. Only thing that’s missing is “kolme pointtia…”
True politician, talked a lot, but didn’t say anything.
So everyone is kinda ignoring the obvious thing that the transition to a new government is not going to be democratic. The US will put somebody in charge whom the US can control for their best interest.
It’s not going to be anyone lawfully and democratically elected by the local population.
Yeah, Alex. Do you support larger countries’ military interventions in less powerful neighbors, in order to support their domestic political goals?
I know it’s a hard question, but really think about it. Maybe the answer will come to you in the eastern wind.
*2026 the US invasion of Venezuela
This is almost word-for-word what Kaja Kallas said
Lame as crap. Absolutely spineless
“We are monitoring the situation closely” sounds a lot like “We will watch and say/do nothing when a big and powerful country tramples over smaller an weaker countries”.
Disappointing to say the least. Expected more from a country like Finland.
Theres a dictator threatening our people with his actions and he is unlawfully elected. Lets unilaterally start an illegal military operation to decapitate the said countrys leadership and bring salvation to the local people. The target country just happens to have lots of natural resources.
Was this Russia or the US?
I hate Russia with everything I got but these double standards make me nauseous, and sort of take the floor from judging Russias original intentions. When theres no need for any validation for military action, anyone with a big enough gun can call anyone a dictator and just invade.
He’s being pragmatic, can’t expect presidents just shouting whatever is trending on twitter currently. Some people really need to chill with the idealism and remember national interests are first priority.
“We are monitoring the situation closely”
What does it mean in practical terms?
Very disappointing. (in EU) Only France has the balls to say things as they are. This is too comformist.
In fluent diplomatese: the ratbastard got removed. Woo! Us fucked up tho, that wasnt cool!
Hope US doesnt cock it up. Actual democracy would be nice
Like I said before. It is all about the oil but this is how Finland should react given it’s security situation. We condemn warmongering in all fronts but this is how we as a small Eastern European and a fresh NATO member need to react. Alex played his part in favor of our country as he should. I hate that world is in this state of waging war and all of it is unnecessary. I hope as they rob the oil from Venezuelan soil they also make sure there is a democratic election that follows. It is another shit show but in a sense it was effective. They acquired their target in matter of days. Unlike the “special military operation” that is for the ridicule of Russia and is a symbol of Ukrainian bravery. This is the difference when you have a professionally acting army instead of orcs with guns.

Ok so Stubb takes the whole “please leave a like and subscribe” very seriously. Good to know
Professional, career politician garbage from a milquetoast little piece of shit.
