I have this arrow tattoo I got on my ribs about 11 years ago. I plan on getting it cleaned up a bit since it has bled but I also want to add to it when I go to Iceland next. I was in Iceland 2.5 years ago on a girls trip with my mom,
Grandmother and sister. My grandmother died shortly after, so the last time i saw her was when she left Iceland to fly back to Germany and I left to fly back to the US. It was heartbreaking but it was beautiful to have my last memory with her be in Iceland. It was her dream trip. Her name was Ingeborg, and I would like to add the Ing rune to my existing tattoo, like how I drew it above. Not only is it part of her name, but from my research it also can signify new beginnings, inner growth and the cyclical nature of existence. My idea is for the rune to kind of surround the arrow, so it looks like the arrow is going through it. I want to make sure that A. This wouldn’t be a faux pas, and B. That I have the meaning and idea behind it correct. Bonus if you can recommend a tattoo shop and if they can help clean up the arrow while adding on the rune. Thank you!
